The Ones You Use... Not Join

Pre-Owned (By Terry Elster, Plano, Texas)

For years I have been reading and watching golf players hit 3 irons off the tee, some say they do it when they do not trust their swing and want to make sure they hit the fairway, others say its just club preference.Being a weekend golfer myself, I never saw the need to use anything lower than a 5 iron and then move to woods if I needed distance, but the question was always in my mind, can a 3 iron help my game? Improve it even? Now I can safely say it helped a little, but the really good thing, it’s a lot of fun using a new iron and getting more distance with it.

I recommend Callaway Golf Pre-Owned, they got a very nice, changing selection of many clubs, iron sets and woods, I don’t think I should go on about Callaway, its an amazing golf club maker. They divide the clubs by condition rating, very reliable, and send you the clubs (sometimes with some free stuff) for flat fee. I am pretty sure I will visit this site again, for less than $90 I can use amazing clubs, and if it doesn’t work out for me, I can always sell them back… This is a site I think more golfers should know.

The Golfing Report (By David Hershan, Hartford, Connecticut)

After reviewing a few online shopping options, I realized that I can not get what I wanted, that being a whole list of golf products I pay less for.Every online shop gives some products for less and many other product for a little more, thus balancing what they seem to lose on the attractive product offer. I was getting pretty upset looking for a golf bag, balls some shirts and maybe golf shoes in a few online stores. When I heard about “the golfing report” it immediately struck me as a good idea, and for the money it costs, I had no problem checking it out. Today I feel a lot of you out there can use this to save some serious money on your golf expenses, and save you time looking for golf products.

I recommend this to anyone who is looking to spend a little less and get a little more for his money.

Big Bertha (By Mike Hoffman, Plano, Texas)

I have been golfing for 5 years now, started when I got a job in a financial company, it looked like all the guys were playing golf (some with clients) and they talked me into it.Since I still get to see my telescope and diving gear every now and again in the garage I decided that I am not going to spend a lot of money on equipment this time, and take it slowly.I started playing using a friends old set of irons, didn’t need woods or a driver for months, once I got the hang of it I decided to invest some money in this and got a Wilson graphite set to get me going. The Wilson set has been great and I am still using it.A few months ago I joined a foursome in my office, we all became friends and never miss our tee time, they took me in although I am seriously the worst golfer around.

I struggle to break 95, it hardly ever happens, as they frequently break 85-80. We gamble occasionally, and recently one of the guys bet $500 I wouldn’t break 90 in the next 3 months, the other guys joined in.I immediately took a few lessons (do the math, its worth it) and improved a little, but the big problem was getting forgiving constant results from my woods and more importantly – my driver. I knew I needed a better driver, but I didn’t want to spend to much on it.This is what I did – I asked a few guys on the driving range if they mind I hit a few balls with their drivers, and almost instantly liked the Big Bertha Titanium, forgiveness is its main feature.

Next I went to some shops only to discover that it will cost me $400 to buy one, seemed a little too much, I decided to keep looking for better deals or maybe other drivers. When I told my golf teacher this story he told me that Callaway has an online used club shop, which I visited the same day. Guys, this seemed almost illegal to me… all the clubs I ever dreamed of were there, for more than reasonable prices, I got my Big Bertha for $80 and had to pay a few extra dollars for FexEx flat rate ground delivery. Since then I did break 90 once, but the bet date is not up yet… I am planning on buying some more goodies with my coworkers hard earned money.I know some people don’t like buying pre owned thing, but for you guys out there that got a set of irons and want to buy a killer driver, or want to get a few low irons that will improve your distance, this is the place to go
